World Bench Press record.

Read about a competition recently in which a 75 year old was going for the world record for maximum bench press in the 75-79 year old category.

According to the event organizers, the current record is 120.5 lbs. Sounds low to me, but what do I know, I've never been that old.

I found an Ohio competition in which a 68-year-old bench pressed 405 lbs. I have to think that 120.5 is a load of BS, unless it refers to a weight class as well as an age group, which very well may be the case. I am positive that it said 120.5 pounds, which is why I scratched my head. I think 120 KG's is probably light as well, if you are talking any weight classification. My only conclusion is that he was going for the record in an age AND weight classification.
