I'd rather be napping!!
I was looking to in the next 12 months buy a molder/planer. I was looking at this one in particular because it also has a drum sander option, it is American made, and has cast iron drums and rollers.

Do any of you have experience with planers or molders, any opinions?
One of the coolest things about this one vs the grizz and the Taiwanese brands is that it has a separate motor for the auto feed whereas the others take sometimes up to a third of the hp's from the wheel for the autofeed.
My thought is this, I plan on building my own home in the next few years and , between this and the tools that I already own (with a few additions
) I would be able to manufacture my own trimout, and cabinets, this would be about a 10k savings from retail due to the ability to by rough sawn lumber for cheap and create my base/crown/chair moldings. The cool thing is that I can also manufacture T&G for cathedral ceilings and whatever else I want.
On a side I could contract out some weekend work to make some of the cash back beyond what I am saving for myself (which BTW should pay for this piece and a decent assortment of knives).
Oh, and knives for this are $27 an inch, v $34 on the grizz.
