The Ohio State University Women’s Volleyball team swept past Rutgers (26-24, 25-7, 25-12) in the final match of the season. The Buckeyes now enter post-season with a 23-9 overall record and 12-8 in Big 10 play. The Buckeyes 23 wins are the most in regular season play since 2009 when a 24-9 mark was reached.

It would serve as the backdrop of Seniors Night as well. Five seniors would shine in their final regular season match for The Ohio State University. Elizabeth Campbell (14 kills: .455), Andrea Kacsits (6 kills: .600), Katie Mitchell (10 kills: .529), and Tyler Richardson (7 kills: .455). The four seniors would combine for 37 kills while each attacked .440 or better. Emily Ruetter would also see action in two sets dishing out for assists.

Valeria León would take charge on defense, digging 18 balls and running her current school record season average to 4.34 digs per set.

The Buckeyes dominate the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers. Since Rutgers has entered the Big 10 in 2014 the Buckeyes have gone 4-0 against them – with a 6-1 overall record. In the last four Big 10 matches they have out-scored the Scarlet Knights by an average of more than 10 points per set.

Sunday at 9:00 p.m. the Buckeyes were drawn to play in Lexington, KY Memorial Coliseum on December 4th @ 7:00 p.m. against the 19-12 Eagles of Robert Morris.

The march begins this coming Friday with the goal of December 19th having a date in the Century Link Center in Omaha.

I look forward to it.

Get ready as we cheer these ladies on towards Omaha.

See you there.
