Woman visiting huband's grave killed by own car

NEW YORK - A 76-year-old woman who drove to a cemetery to visit her husband's grave has been killed by her own car.

The woman inadvertently left the car running and in gear when she stopped at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Queens Sunday afternoon, police said.

She was about 50 feet from her husband's grave when the car mowed her down. She died at the scene.

Police say no criminality is suspected.

The guy across the street from me brought home a pickup truck from his new job at the Home Depot yesterday. He forgot to put on the parking brake, and the truck rolled down the street and hit a parked car. So the owners of that car called the cops, who when they checked things out learned that the pickup truck was reported as stolen!

Turns out the truck was recovered, but the manager at the Home Depot didn't notify the cops. Gave my neighbor some uncomfortable time with the cops - until he got them to call the store and verify that they gave him the truck, and it wasn't a stolen vehicle. :biggrin:
