WLOCP: Georgia -3.5 vs Florida at Jax (ov/un 48.5) Sat 3:30 ET, CBS

Georgia still leads the series, 46-40-2. Here UF's decade by decade record vs. UGA:

2010s: 1-0-0
2000s: 8-2-0
1990s: 9-1-0
1980s: 2-8-0
1970s: 3-7-0
1960s: 6-3-1
1950s: 6-4-0
1940s: 2-7-0 (no game in 1943)
1930s: 1-8-1
1920s: 2-3-0 (no games 1921-1925)
1910s: 0-3-0 (1915, 1916, 1919)

Since 1990, UF is 18-3-0 vs. UGA. My math says that prior to then, UF was 22-43-2 vs. UGA. UGA also won 21 of the first 26 games. So, they are right with their claims about post-1990. However, UF's amount of pwnage since then (18-3-0) is significant enough to warrant a "So fucking what?"

Four of the last six decades and working on the fifth of the last seven.

While I respect what folks did on the field prior to anyone alive today watching, I respect the "So [censored]ing what?" aspect of that even more.

The '50s and '60s were relatively close (6-4 and 6-3-1 respectively)...no real dominance. In fact, those were the only two out of the first eight decades that UF won. Most rivalries will have streaks for both teams, but UGA fans' claims of UF not really dominating until 1990 onward are correct. That said, your record of 19-3 against UGA since 1990 is the best run by far in the series, and worthy of the most serious of smackage...

Dominance? Yeah. But if you scrawl back to my original post about "post 90", my comment was in response to the Mutt blog statement "They have a football tradition that stretches way back to 1990."

Never said we "dominated" back then. But winning those decades sure as [Mark May] meets the "tradition" standard.

Jake, I see you are a visitor to that intellectual giant of a site going by the name "Poon of the SEC". :pimp:

I'm a user of Google, but that site was a quick find.

Early on, huge advantage, gators (I mean the, Georgia girl is cute, in a facial kind of way, but she's still in her brother's under shirt. Let's call a spade a spade here, 32 is a bit of a stretch for the wee lass from Athens.) Gators expand on lead in the second half with three out of five clearly into the "attention getting device territory" but the other two bear only a slight resemblance to those factors which gave Florida the early lead. Second half shows Georgia mounting a furious comeback, gathering huge tracks of land.[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVWH01E2weA"]Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Guards Scene - YouTube[/ame]

So if I catch your drift, Gator, what you're saying is that Georgia is kind of the SEC East Michigan. S' right?
