Wiscy hanging with the Heels

I don't think the Badgers can keep up this pace the entire game, but they've run off 11 in a row to tie it at 44 with 20 seconds left in the first half.

Go Big Ten!

And the Badgers take the lead to start the second half, 47-44!

Let me just add that that Bill Raftery is disgusting. He's the white Stuart Scott. Why do announcers feel the need to drop a catch phrase ever ten seconds, and why do they all have to be about five degrees separated from the actual decription of what's going on? And please, Mr. Raftery, quit sniffing so much Tarhole jock. You are completely unlistenable.

WOW! Alley-oop to Tucker!

Badgers down 3 with about a minute left, though

Once again, a team falls behind by more than 3 points with under a minute left and they throw up a panic 25 footer...and seal their doom. :smash:

Badgers now down 7 with 34 seconds left.

Rafferty is great. His commentary, though loaded with catch-phrases, is usually on the money and gives a legitimate insight to the game. He's also great for those who don't watch the game until tourney time.

I also think Gus Johnson is an excellent announcer. He has a great voice, and gives a big-game feel to whatever he's announcing, similar to Brent Musberger.

Packer is the one I have a problem with. He can be nasty towards individuals. Nothing like kicking an 18-year-old who's having a bad game while he's down.

There's a lot of anti-UNC sentiment on this board.

The game was much closer than the final score indicated and the result had a lot to do with the way the game was called.

No anti-UNC sentiment, but I think that May got away with murder. He was allowed to push off way too much on offense and should have been called for charging more often. A couple of times he moved a defensive Badger four or five feet toward the rim with his shoulder while dribbling and didn't get called.

If my memory is correct, the 11-0 run began shortly after NC got two offensive fouls called. I think the Badgers might have won this if it had been called differently under the NC basket.

This entire tourney the announcers have been singing the praises of the officials for "letting them play". I just don't get it. Rules is rules and if you aren't enforcing the rules you may be "letting them play" but you aren't "letting them play" basketball.

The argument that refs don't want to make a close call in a tight game because they don't want to be the ones to decide the game is flat backwards. When you decide not to enforce the rules you ARE deciding the game.
