Windows 8 - Anyone Using It

Too lazy to search for a link right now, but I read an article yesterday (on CNET I believe) That HP was going to start shipping new computers with Windows 7 again due to complaints about Windows 8 and 8.1. Curious to see how that effects sales.

Well in a corporate environment I imagine it'll help. I know at my company we get new HP devices with Windows 8 and we downgrade them to Windows 7 but we had to sign/buy a licensing agreement with Microsoft to downgrade them.

Company I work or that does support for another company did the same thing. Would ship a windows 7 laptop with XP until 7 was fully compatable.

Oh yeah we still have one area that has software that's only compatible with Windows XP so we still have to deploy XP on their devices. I work in healthcare IT and so trying to get probably well over 100 applications simultaneously compatible and on the same page is never easy. Luckily this one area has a system upgrade coming so their primary application is Windows 7 compatible and then I think we're all good before the April deadline. 1800 PC's in our environment need upgraded from XP to Windows 7 still before that EOL deadline for XP.

We still get people that have XP, so I'm not thrilled with April approaching. It has to be done, but it's going to be a headache.
