I wish people woudn't keep trying to call this the greatest match of all time, is it a great match yes, is it a historic match duh, but goat? not even close, all it is, is aces and thats about it, the rallies have been pretty boring (even before it got to a million games)

Agreed...at the very least, GOAT match needs to be played all at once, IMO.

Pretty much agree. It's a remarkable match, but terribly dull to watch. I'm switching back to the World Cup.

You know, maybe a fifth set tiebreaker isn't the worst thing in the world?

Isner's run ended quickly after having nothing left in the tank. They should save the "win by two" stuff for the final and use a tiebreaker in the earlier rounds.

nah, you cant change it through the tournament, have one or the either...

whew, Roddick gets through a tough match, 7-5, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3....should have an easy match next rd, then next match will be the tough one, winner of hewitt and djokovic

Stay classy, Roger! :roll1:

"From my end, obviously, I'm unhappy with the way I'm playing," Federer said. "I am struggling with a little bit of a back and a
leg issue.
It's frustrating to say the least. When you're hurting ? you don't feel as comfortable. You can't concentrate on each and every point because you do feel the pain sometimes.
"Under the circumstances, I think I played a decent match. It's just not good and healthy to play under these kind of conditions."
Federer was asked about the big hitters who have beaten him recently in majors -- Berdych, Soderling and Juan Martin del Potro -- and responded quickly, "Well, if I'm healthy, I can handle those guys."
"I think he went after it," Federer said of Berdych. "That's the way he plays; he's been able to play more consistent last year or so. He was able to come up with some good stuff, you know. But I definitely gave away this match, I feel."
Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.

Just saw the 4th set. Berdych made some amazing shots in the middle of the set, saving 4 break points at 2-3, and then pounding the ball to break Roger in the next game. He may a fantastic low volley off a passing shot on one of those break points. In the next game he made a great running crosscourt forehand on game point for Federer. Without those two great shots, it's 5-2 Fed, heading for a 5th set.

Roger's comments after the match were disappointing and the timing of them did lack class, as if trying to take something away from a great win by Berdych.
