Weis is a small planet

What is less well known is that the academic resources of the Big Ten are shared. It's a huge incentive in faculty recruitment, research grants and bringing in strong grad and undergrad students. Ohio State benefits not one iota from Notre Dame's academic strengths.
Further, the higher any Big 10 team is ranked, the more lucrative their bowl bid and the more money generated for the programs of ALL Big 10 schools. The higher Notre Dame is ranked, the more lucrative their bowl game the more money they take in and share with exactly no one. And did you notice who wore the home jerseys in the Fiesta Bowl and which team walked out with the biggest check?
OK. I guess we could end the season playing Penn State or Iowa... Make Michigan homecoming... Man, what did they do to you? Run off with your girlfriend? Step on your blue suede shoes?
Who said this, Barry Goldwater? OSU does not live in a vacuum. Without the Big 10 we could be Miami or Ohio U. The conference has grown in athletic and academic status because of its total strength. Ohio State has benefitted, is benefitting, will benefit from the Big 10.
By extension of your argument The Game will remain The Game despite the collapse of Michigan... There's a reason why Indiana is not The Game... and I have no interest in a major rivalry that becomes one sided... like the 90s...and maybe that's the source of our differing opinions. If I had been a student at OSU during the 90s the Michigan game would be much more difficult to put into perspective.

cincibuck;607729; said:OK, Let me put it this way: I don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, but I hate fuckin' Notre Dame. Does that clarify things?
