Will Thump Stuff and Mount?

I, for one, will not sit idly by and watch someone in such grief and anger about the absolute death of such a storied tradition go through denial without lending a helping hand. It's all right. We understand. Really. We have lived with Notre Dame fans all our lives. Don't fear, there's always next year's preseason rankings to look forward to. In the meantime, it may be useful to try to plot your personal space on the Kubler-Ross grief cycle.

The Grief Cycle

The Grief Cycle can be shown as in the chart below, indicating the roller-coaster ride of activity and passivity as the person wriggles and turns in their desperate efforts to avoid the change.

The initial state before the cycle is received is stable, at least in terms of the subsequent reaction on hearing the bad news. Compared with the ups and downs to come, even if there is some variation, this is indeed a stable state.
And then, into the calm of this relative paradise, a bombshell bursts...

WOW! Because CW came in on the tail end of recruiting on TW's last season as coach. The recruiting season was 1/2 over. ON top of that CW tried to recruit while he was still coaching with the Pat's.

My post clearly indicated I was aware of that, so I fail to see why you're saying 'WOW!'.

He didn't have a full season for the class of 2005, but those players committed in writing to ND when Weis was the head coach.

I noticed you didn't address the other part of my post - about taking ownership of the team's performance after coaching them for two years.

And he's been coaching them for two sets of spring practices and two full seasons. It's about time he's credited with what happens to that team, regardless of who talked to the players when they were in high school.

And are you aware just how lame you appear by typing LOL!!, WOW!, and DUH! in so many of your posts? In case you're not, I'll let you know that the use of capitization and exclamation points don't make your weak arguments any stronger, they just make your posts more annoying to read.

LOL AGAIN! TW was recruiting Brady's teammate Chinedum Ndukwe (sp) who helped get Brady and TW to talk.

Jeff grew up in ND's backyard.

Actually, DUH, you don't have your facts right again. LOL, Ndukwe's father urged Willingham to give Quinn a better look. However, Brady Quinn grew up wanting to play at Notre Dame and didn't need the introduction. Willingham tied down the deal and that was the point of the earlier post.

WOW! He sure isn't Chuckie's recruit, is he? LOL LMAO LOL

From the Notre Dame website http://newsinfo.nd.edu/content.cfm?topicid=17766:

And truth be told, this is where Brady Quinn always dreamed of being. He always wanted to play quarterback at Notre Dame.

As a middle-schooler, he used to drive over from his hometown of Dublin, Ohio, to see games with a friend whose brother was a student at Notre Dame. They'd spend the night crashed on his dorm-room floor.

But even as Quinn's high school career progressed, Willingham's staff was slow to warm to him. Ohio State and Michigan were interested, and Quinn said he was almost ready to commit to the Wolverines before making an academic visit to Notre Dame the June before his senior year.

Earlier that month, Quinn had toured about seven summer camps across the South, stopping for a day here and a day there to throw passes and learn about the host schools. After a stellar showing in South Carolina, the recruiting calls picked up -- including calls from Notre Dame.

That was all it took.

"Going to ND, I was kind of living out that childhood dream," Quinn said. "Once I got here on campus, I couldn't imagine myself anyplace else."

1. WOW! Was because you were like the 3rd person involved in that same conversation.
2.CW is very aware of the defensive issues and is recruiting hard to try and solve the personel issues. IM0 A defensive coaching change may also be made.
3. You call me "lame" when you bitch about something so trivial as LOL! or WOW! I will be nice and leave it at that.
