But now, thankfully, it's about to be over, and Muschamp will almost certainly be fired — maybe as soon as Sunday. You know it, I know it, even South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier knows it.

"I must be getting a little old when I start feeling sorry for the other coach," Spurrier said after his Gamecocks blocked a punt with 39 seconds left, scored a game-tying touchdown in regulation and then handed Muschamp a coffin-nailing 23-20 overtime defeat. “It was nice for us, it was good for our team…. I still feel for the other guy a little bit. Maybe I know him too well. We all know he’s sorta on the hot seat I guess you call it. I hope he stays though. He’s got a bunch of good players, and I think he’s a good coach that… man, to get a field goal and a punt blocked right there at the end, that doesn’t happen often.”
