WHISTLER (AFP) -- American ski star Lindsey Vonn was given a further boost in her bid to recover from a painful shin injury with the cancellation of a Friday downhill training session and the postponement of Sunday's women's Olympic super-combined Alpine race.A new date has not been set yet.
The status of the men's downhill race, which is scheduled for Saturday, also is in jeopardy.
The decision was made Friday after heavy overnight rain made the course too soft and unsafe. Officials called off training runs scheduled for that day.
