A Leaf on the Wind
Hey folks, my Wifi went out today. I tried the typical unplugging of the Modem and Router for 1 minute, and accomplished nothing. One total reset later, and three more 1 minute power resets later I got it back up and running.. 4 hours later.

My problem is my Wifi network is no longer secured, nor does it have my old Network name. Rather it is just named Linksys and is not a secure connection. I'm sure this is simple, but does anyone know how to recover my Secure Network.. and why this happened?

your router should be 192.168.1.1 and your password should be linksys, the admin account is either admin or linksys.

There's a simple step by step, there's tons more.

Sounds like your router reset to factory defaults. You need to log into your network to reset the security.

Open your web browser and type 192.168.1.1 and hit enter or return.

A window should appear asking you to provide a username and password. The default username is usually to leave it blank or perhaps "admin". The default password is "admin".

There should be a link for security setup.

If that doesn't work, google default username and pass for your router model.
