    • Indians entered bottom of 9th today... up 3-0

    Wickman proceeds to get NO outs...
    Gives up 2 homers to tie it at 3-3

    He then proceeds to make an error on a sacrifice bunt
    which loaded the bases.. none out

    Next batter hits sac fly...
    4th run scores

    Tribe loses 4-3
    Wickman gets NO outs in the 9th

    Damn

    finally the setup guys for tribe get it together...
    and the closer pours gas all over the field... and loses it...
    Not a good sign
     
    It's just hard to watch Wickman anymore...he used to be good, but the only reason he's still a closer is because he was one before. Had he been a setup man previously, no one would think of using him as a closer.


    But more to Alan's point...who would have thought that the most sure closer at the start of the season would be the volatile Miguel Batista in Toronto? (Of course, Toronto is always good the first week, and they are playing TB)

    How disgusting it was........

    It's still early but today is not the type of thing you want to see.

    The Tribe has now successfully wasted two magnificent starting performances back to back. In the early season the Indians starters have pitched 14 innings (in two days) and given up a total of 1 earned run and the team is 0-2 to open the season. Thinking of it that way kinda makes you sick.

    I'm a not a doom and gloom guy, I still believe this team has a legitimate shot at the division but it can't keep losing games like this. They have to believe they can win. If the bullpen implodes again, it could shatter whatever confidence they need.

    Wickman will get a few more chances but if he doesn't perform he should be yanked from the role. Not sure at this point who would fill it but that's another discussion.

    Sorry, but nobody should be surprised. Signing guys like Millwood and Rhodes is absolutely pointless when Wickman is pitching the 9th. Sooner or later fans will stop showing up for this bullshit and Dolan will get the message. pathetic.

    It's brutal. I'm not even an Indians fan and it's painful to watch. If they had even a half-decent bullpen last year, they probably win the Central Division. This is exactly how last season went, too.

    I think the Indians bull pen will be fine with or without Wickman (if he can get his shit straight). Rhodes looked good while he was out there protecting a 2-0 lead.
    I would like to see Wickman get another chance or 2 in a non-save situation to see if he can get on track. If not cut him when CC comes back and move on. The bull pin as a whole will be a lot better than last year. As long as the starting pitching keeps pitching well the Tribe will be fine.

    I certainlt hope so for the benefit of the Indians fans. Its just disheartening when the first two games of the season go the way these two did.

    I am a huge Indians fan and yes yesterday afternoon I was ready to throw my tv out the window. Very frustrating to watch Wickman yesterday, but I am not ready to throw him to the wolves just yet, its early people.

    Last year without Wickman the first half of the season the bullpen blew 20+ saves and lost countless games at the last at bat. When Wickman finally played in the second half he appeared in 30 games picking up 13 saves with I think two blown saves, so lets not jump ship just yet.
