How about an optimistic thread on this game.
The scenario: Michigan is starting a freshman quarterback in one of football's most heralded rivaries against a pissed-off, jacked-up and disrespected Irish defense. The U-M runing game is anemic so if it's stoppped early the Wolves will have to count on an inexperienced leader to air it out.
The Irish offense that was supposed to be much improved was written-off after just one game. Maybe the BYU game showed them what they need to do to get to the next level... and maybe they'll employ those changes against U-M. Hopefully they'll have their starting running back for the game.
The coaching staff knows a humiliating loss could mean their jobs. They play it close to the vest in a grind-it-out, ball posession type game. A touchdown and 3 field goals. Michigan scores twice and has the ball at the end of the game, but Henne's inexperience comes through and they run out of downs.
The optimistic final score: Notre Dame 16 Michigan 14.
