Why is this news?: A trip to the Fiesta Bowl isn't cheap, Noah Spence is an All-American

It should come as no surprise that attending almost any sporting event in today's environment isn't cheap. If you didn't torch your wallet paying for the tickets themselves, you almost certainly did at the concession stands. Per Briggs' article, round trip plane tickets from Ohio to Phoenix are going for around $800. So before many can even consider buying a ticket, they must face the price of that flight. Ohio State has sold most of the tickets that have been allotted to them, but are beginning to focus on the southwestern region of the country.
The purpose in this, would be that the travel expense would be much more minimal for those in that part of the country. Selling tickets to alumni in California, Arizona, and Nevada is an easier sell than to the student who wouldn't even think about trying to purchase a plane ticket. The only circumstance where that might be different, is if the Bucks were where they thought they would be this time of the year, and that's in the College Football Playoff.
Noah Spence named first team AP FCS All-American
Former Ohio State defensive lineman and current Eastern Kentucky Colonel Noah Spence was named to the AP's first team for FCS All-Americans. Spence was invited, and will participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl next month, after deciding to forego his final season of college eligibility. After having his fair share of off the field issues, Spence has really pulled things together, and appears to have a bright future in football.
Spence put up great numbers for the Colonels. He totaled 22.5 tackles for a loss and 11.5 sacks, the fourth-most in EKU single-season history. His presence on the defensive line helped the Colonels boast a run defense that was 15th in the nation. In fact, Spence was able to record a sack in nine of Eastern Kentucky's 11 games this season. He truly found his stride in his new home.

The Irish might be getting a bit of a boost just in time for the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State. They are expecting nose guard Jarron Jones and tight end Durham Smythe. Before they had their respective MCL tears, that were supposed to keep both players out for the entire season. They oddly both had the exact same tear in the right knee. Injuries had plagued the Irish throughout the season.
Per Coyne, Brian Kelly is glad to have Jones back because of the presence he brings on the defensive line, and the push that he provides, a key characteristic to any good defensive line. The return of Smythe is big as well. Notre Dame, whether at the top of their game or not, typically gets good production out of their tight ends, and to have an extra body in Smythe adds a dynamic to that offense, which will be welcome as the Irish go up against a stout Ohio State defense.
Sam Hubbard named to USA Today Freshman All-America Team
Ohio State standout freshman Sam Hubbard was named to USA Today's Freshman All-America team. He was one of four defensive lineman named to the team. Hubbard made his mark early in the season when he replaced Joey Bosa during his suspension for the Virginia Tech game, where Hubbard provided an immediate impact. He would continue to provide a great presence on the Ohio State defense all season long.
Hubbard had 24 tackles on the season for the Bucks, along with 5.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss. He also recovered two fumbles, and forced one. He will be a key component for the Ohio State defense moving forward, and will be a nice centerpiece. He is capable of doing anything, and has drawn fair comparisons to Joey Bosa. That's not a bad comparison to have.
