Well, Desmond Howard thinks Kentucky should be #5.

You read that right.

Hey, they're undefeated, beat Louisville and Arkansas on the road...and have the chic Heisman candidate of the moment. I think there's a better argument for that than for keeping Florida in the top 5. I agree that Florida will eventually, by the end of the season, be a top 5 football team, but if the logic is "well they lost, but I think they're good, so I won't drop them any" then why do wins and losses even count?

Hell, why not? I think they'll lose next week to South Carolina anyway.

It's still difficult to get a read some teams. I just don't know how good some are and are not. As much as I read posts on how "OU, LSU, Florida, etc, etc, hasn't played anybody".... who really has OSU played? That Washington game was great, but I don't know how much to take from it.

I'm so confused. :(

I'd drop them a spot :p

I'll go out on a limb and my post the first five of MY Top 10 poll (this IS NOT a prediction of the actual poll), you guys can proceed to tear me to shreds if (and when) you disagree.

1. USC
Last Week: #2
Winning Conference games on the road is never easy. Even though they struggled today against a good Washington team, I still liked how they were able to get the win and that's now two big road wins so far this season. That's enough for me to spot them at #1.

2. LSU
Last Week: #1
As good as LSU has looked so far this season, no big road wins, and they have beat up on fair competition at home. A tough match-up next week against Florida, will prove just how good they really are.

3. California
Last Week: #5
A huge win on the road today against Oregon, and I continue to like them a lot. The late season match up against USC is building up to be epic if both teams can get there undefeated.

4. Florida
Last Week: #3
I know many will disagree here, but as much as I want to drop Florida for losing at Home, but watching them play I still think they are a very good Football team. Auburn has had Florida's number for the past two years... but I don't think anyone else does. I think they'll rebound next weekend at LSU and justify staying in the Top 5.

5. Ohio State
Last Week: #5
Ohio State is still a very tough decision to make in the polls. Their only credible win this season was At Washington, who they beat decisively. Other than that they have beat up on cupcakes, and have looked great doing so. Both the Offense and Defense look as good as they did at any point last year, but it's still hard to get a fix on how good they truly are against sub-par competition and the rest of the Big 10 not up to the usually high standards. If Ohio State continues to dominate every team they play for the rest of the season and win out... I can see them playing for a National Title should the pieces fall into place.

you cant lose to an unranked, .500 football team at home and stay in at #4. Auburn had struggled all year and came into the swamp and made florida play on their heels all game long.

That being said:
1. LSU
2. USC
3. Cal
4. OSU
5. Wisky/ BC

I hear what you're saying, but when I do my own personal polls I do it off one base opinion of mine: Who do I think could beat who, RIGHT now?

RIGHT now, I think Florida would only lose to USC, LSU, and Cal should they play any of them on a neutral field. Like I said before, in my own personal poll I don't predict how the AP/Coache's poll will turn out. I base it off of who could win right now on a neutral field.

ALL of College Football polls are subjective and opinionated. That's just how my own works. :)

In that case, right now, I think Auburn could beat Florida on a neutral field, hell, at the Swamp, so I think they're #1

I know you are joking, but could Auburn beat anyone else other than Florida? Their records indicates that they probably couldn't. This was as big of a trap game for Florida coming the weekend before LSU as anything on their schedule. Of course of all 115+ I-A teams there is probably one team out there that matches up so perfectly that they could knock off the #1 team on any given Saturday. So you have to play the "law of averages" so to speak when decided "who could beat who"?

Oh well, I'm no telling you how to think. I'm telling you how I think.

Ya know, I was just thinking how much I like USF too. At least enough to include them somewhere in the Top 15. Although I am surprised to see how low you have Oregon, way way way down there.

don't pull a herbie... at least keep rutgers in the top 25 ahead of Uconn.

You could put Oregon above anyone up to Oklahoma and as far down as Virginia Tech.

That run of teams in there is pretty similar if you ask me.

I knew I was forgetting someone....

Maybe switch out Miami (FL) for Rutgers, but unless Rutgers finds a defense quickly they are going to lose 4 out of their next 5 games (cincy, at syracuse which isn't an easy one anymore, South Florida, West Virginia at UCONN)....

IF they don't figure out a way to stop the run, it will be very hard for them to win all of those.
