They had some on sale at the Schofield Base Exchange a few weeks ago and I bought a set. They do pick up a lot of water for their size, but not nearly as fast as they make it seem on TV. They also don't hold the water once they're saturated (they'll drip just like any other material that's saturated). I wouldn't classify them as a "rip-off", but I wouldn't call them a "great buy" either...
