Who did you play against (or almost play against)

just realized that me and Ed Reed (yea, THE Ed Reed) are the same age.

had i not transferred to a smaller catholic school, i would have been in same district as him in High School.

always thought he was a few years younger, but he’s actually about a month older than me.

we probably played against each other in freshman football, but nobody knew who he was then, so i don’t remember him.

I grew up with, and played against Antoine Harris throughout little league and high school

I also went to high school with, and played on the same team as Andrew Lee before he transferred to Brookhaven. I was shocked when I heard that he was at Ohio State because he wasn't very good at the sport (he was fast is about all I can give him), and he wasn't very smart (think what people think of Andy K.)

Columbus Eastmoor was our rival and Archie and his brother Ray were unbelievable. They might have had a game my senior year with both over 200 yds rushing(hazy memory). I also helped coach youth football..our stud was Mike Boren and our rival had Keith Griffin. We split 4 games in 3 years. Mike Boren was scary at 9 years old..knew nothing about football but a natural physical specimen.He was scary good..

so in the coaching change thread i mentioned i played against Herb Tyler in High School.

so just curious who some of you midwestern guys (or the Tomato guy if he actually played and wasn’t on chess team or some shit) either actually played, or just missed playing against in High School.

Played against:
Herb Tyler (LSU quarterback)
Rondel Mealy (LSU running back)
Larry Foster (LSU wideout, spent some time with Detroit Lions)
Travis Minor (FSU running back, spent some time in NFL)


Just missed:
Peyton Manning - we played Newman year after he graduated
Jake Delhomme - played Teurlings Catholic my Sr year (3 years after Jake)
Kevin Faulk - had we won i. first round of playoffs, would have played Carencro in 2nd round his senior year
Corey Webster - i’m 4 years older than him, but our HS are district rivals
Warrick Dunn - same HS as Minor, but his freshman year at FSU was my sophomore year in HS

I played against Gerald McCoy and future Dallas Cowboys kick returner Bryan McCann during my Pop Warner years, back when I used to live in Oklahoma. Lived in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas starting in 8th grade. Unfortunately, there's no such talent down here.
