I have misplaced my pants.
ohiostate=life: "Everyone plays 162 games."
If there is a tie, then 2 teams would play 163 games. If there is a 3 way tie, then two teams would play 163 and one team would end up playing 164.
For example, the 1978 Yankees, due to the 1 game playoff against Boston that season were 100-63. 163 total games.
So if the three teams are tied (95-67), let's say the Yankees beat the Red Sox and win the East, with a final record of 96-67. The Red Sox have a record of 95-68. The Indians have a record of 95-67. The Indians are 1/2 game up on the Red Sox. Does that mean no playoff for the wildcard? Or was the playoff determined based on the 162-game season?
