Who Can tell Me whats Gonna Happen IF.....

AkronBuckeye: "Yanks , BoSox and Indians all finish with the same record.."

Home field was determined by a coin flip a few weeks ago. So, if all three are tied:

1. Yanks play Boston in a one game playoff at Yankee Stadium. Then,

2. The Loser of that game will play Cleveland in a one game Playoff for the Wild Card. If the Yankees lose, then Yankees-Indians will be in Cleveland. If Boston loses (I believe), Indians-Red Sox will be in Fenway Park.

I'm not 100% sure about the Red Sox-Indians home field scenario. I know the Yanks won the Boston coin flip & lost the coin flip to Cleveland.

ohiostate=life: "Everyone plays 162 games."

If there is a tie, then 2 teams would play 163 games. If there is a 3 way tie, then two teams would play 163 and one team would end up playing 164.

For example, the 1978 Yankees, due to the 1 game playoff against Boston that season were 100-63. 163 total games.

and in the possibility that Cleveland, White Sox, Red Sox and Yankees ALL finish with identical records...

East plays for their championship
Central plays for their championship (in Cleveland)

and losers play next day for wild card

I was referring to BigSlick's post about the Yankees and Red Sox playing one more game in the regular season which he felt could prevent all three from tying.
