Which Thad 5'ers start next year?

The main reason I think Harris will start is because he has to be respected from the 3 point line and that would allow Oden to operate down low without worrying about the defending PF helping out. No, Harris is not a great defender or rebounder, but Oden is so good at both of those things that I think we can make do with Harris starting at the 4. For those games where we go up against good rebounding squads like Michigan State, we simply have Oden and Twig on the court at the same time... we will get every rebound!

I don't know how much I think that logic works. Teams can still sink way down in a 3-2 or 1-3-1 and Harris isn't neutralizing anyone with his range. Greg Oden's ability to pass from the low block should not be underestimated whatsoever, and when the double team comes, I'm more than confident that he'll be able to find the open man for the points. I am almost certain he'll be seeing double teams whether or not our 4 finds his way around the 3 point line or not. Personally, when I see a dominant big man on the college level I like to see a good weak side rebounder/defender to play opposite of him. A good rebounder will get a lot of garbage buckets, and I'll again refer to Oden's passing and he'll get a lot of cookies when the double comes.

On the defensive end, if two big men are both good weakside defenders, they can shut down any inside game that opponents have. I loved watching Tim Duncan and David Robinson come to mind.

I honestly don't think Thad likes many of his low post options much at all outside of Dials, as most are only used when Dials finds himself in foul trouble. The key is: does he want to stick with basically a 4 guard/center lineup next year or does he want to go big? He'll probably go with where he has the most talent and adapt the style around them. It should be interesting to see.

Have you noticed how good Sullinger is doing at this? It seems that everytime Dials goes up for the shot, JJ is right there on the weak side for the follow. That's how he got a couple of those put back dunks earlier.

Ohio State's inside defense is going to be pretty good once Oden hits the campus but if Terwilliger can play the four, damn the inside defense will be one of the best in the nation. Two shot blockers at the 4 and 5.

Lets not forget about Othello Hunter at the 4 spot next year, he is 6-9 big body who can rebound and shoot.
