Right now, Ohio State has 15 seemingly solid commitments, with RB Brionte Dunn on the fence between Ohio State and Michigan. Now that Urban Meyer has arrived in Columbus, which additional recruits will he land to close out the class of 2012?

An Athlete WR - Caleb?

23 total... too many :(

After the hiring of Coach Meyer, I feel there will be at least 23 in this class. IMO there will be some attrition. Who? I have a few guesses but it would be inappropriate to speculate. I'm going to guess 3 -5 players from the current roster will move on for one reason or another.

Huh? I was under the impression we didn't have a lot of scholarships to hand out this year, not to mention the looming possibility of scholarship reductions, etc.

Initially, I was under the same impression. But the Meyer factor will influence that. As it stands, right now, it's 5 scholoarships over a three-year period. And like I said, I have a feeling we will have some attrition due to transfers, medical hardships, and maybe one player going pro. Again I have my opinion on who but won't throw it out there because it may not happen. Just my two cents.

I have no idea who he will land. Depends on the number of scholarships we have available (+/- attrition). Lots of excitement around Ohio and some of the national kids.

I voted for Kozan, Diamond, Davidson, Spence and keeping Dunn. I have no idea who in that group Meyer will still want to take in. I think its obvious that we need multiple OL's (3 is my number) and I think they all need to have potential as OT's. If other OT's from around the nation want to consider us then fantastic.

Does the scholarship reduction begin this season or next?

The OSU proposal to the NCAA was for 5 scholarships over the next three years begininng in 2012 (12,13,14) as a punishment for Failure to Monitor. The NCAA has yet to respond although is expected to by early December.

It is possible the reduction can come in a variety of formats (2-2-1, 5-0-0, 1-1-3). The worst case scenario if if the NCAA announces more than 5, then tOSU will have to get creative. This is not expected though.

Remember, Bowl season will be announced next week and this is also a potential sanction, so it is possible we can get an NCAA ruling shortly. The NCAA likes Money and bowl match ups.

I'm as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning. Recruiting certainly will be interesting to track from here on out..

Kozan, Davidson, Caleb, Diamond and Dunn is what I am hoping for and maybe someone else who was not on our radar before.

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

PS.. working on a new sig.

Buckrock spelled it out. Also to note is that we can fill up to 85 on NSD and serve our penalty with the attrition from NSD to opening day.

My list is to fill up is:
Dodson/Diamond- I picked both on the poll but whatever
Davidson- The leg is a concern but I think he still grabs him
Kozan- Needs to grab it quick
Dunn- Think he stays
Spence- Urban's whale
Keith Brown- Huge need
Pittman- Huge flip

Add 6-7 more to the 16 and finish at 22-23 and with attrition I think we'll serve about 2-3 our penalty next year. Can easily see 4-5 kids leaving or being put on some waiver like McVey.

We'll see how solid Southward is. Don't think the other 14 are going anywhere.
