Where will Greg Oden be picked in the NBA draft?

not related to this bet, but did we lose money when we took away the bpStore?

Not to my knowledge. The ability to move money back and forth between bank and points, and the ability to donate vCash are now only allowed for admins; but no actual vCash/points should have been reduced.

This from the Oregonian via SI.com:

Oden wasn't a given in Portland

Portland GM Kevin Pritchard fielded many trade offers for the TrailBlazer's No. 1 draft pick. He took a call from an Eastern Conference general manager, with whom he had past dealings. The executive made an offer that was moderate in shock value: A five-time All-Star and this year's lottery pick in exchange for the No. 1 pick and the Blazers' 2008 first-round pick. As enticing as the offer was -- the Blazers in years past had made a run at the All-Star player -- Pritchard declined on the spot. A team within the Blazers division proposed a trade involving a future Hall of Famer and a standout rookie for the Blazers' No. 1 pick. As Pritchard described it, he stayed up until 3 a.m. in his hotel room with his staff considering the offer.

Here's what I see these two offers as:

1. Boston Celtics offered Paul Pierce and their 5 Pick for Portland's #1.
2. Lakers offered Kobe and Bynum??

2. wouldn't work, Lakers are in the Blazers conference but not their divison. I assume 2. was Minny with Garnett and Randy Foye maybe? I agree on 1. sounds like Boston.

Word here is that Oden goes first.

Cincinnati's the last place to get the news so I figure I should still be able to collect on this bet. How 'bout those Reds... and the Bengals set the single season rap sheet record! God, what a great sports town.

Highly doubtful on #2, Kobe has that stupid no trade clause in his contract, and he either wants to go to the East, or the Suns, I don't think going to a Portalnd team where he would be essentially playing in the same situation would be his cup of tea. I could see Celtics trying, maybe Dallas would make a push too since their "big man" isn't quite as effective as they would like.
