Where do you buy your work shoes? (WARNING-Mind-numbing thread alert!!)

  • I have to wear dress shoes for work and usually just end up getting a pair at Kohl's for around 45 bucks. I wear shoes out pretty quick with all of the walking and standing I do in a normal day so can't see spending a ton of money on shoes. Although they have to comfortable or I'd be miserable.

I know people like NYBuck probably get $2000 alligator shoes from god knows where in Italy.

I've not had much luck at DSW for some reason.
its hit or miss. i assume you fall in between 9-12 shoe size? i wear boats on my feet and can usually find a pair or two every time i look. i usually buy ahead of the curve when they are on sale. if you go for a more "classic" look you dont have to worry about styles changing.

DSW is the way to go. I typically prefer higher-end brand name type stuff, but have been pleasantly surprised lately at how comfortable skechers are.

I had a pair of Skechers sandals a few years back and man were they comfortable.

Skechers are probably some of the most comfortable shoes I've put on.

Used to get some dress shoes at Famous Footwear but not as of late.

I know they carry Skechers as well.

For dress shoes I'll usually look at Gab's. I got a pair of Doc Martins for $20 a few years ago. I usually wear tennis shoes to work and I get any type of athletic shoes from eastbay since that's the only place I can get shoes that fit for a good price.

I have to wear steel toes at work, and now we have to wear tarsel protection as well. So, we get them through vendors who are contracted to come through the plant once a year or so. Otherwise I wear Doc Marten's.

I recently bought a pair of white Adidas shoes. It's freaking everyone out, since I normally wear brown boots or brown sandals.

im scared of steel toed, working in college i was on a site when a guy got his foot crushed by a hoe and the steel gave in, cut off his foot and i had to drive him in a pick up with him yelling and going crazy, while i had his foot in a bag as i drove like the cops were chasing me to the hospital.

My wife has been buying me shoes as well, which is nice, because I hate shopping, but not so nice, because obviously I'm not trying the shoes on before I buy them. I'd say she returns two of every three pairs that she buys for me, but it's nice to rarely have to shop for shoes.

I should add, I got one hell of a deal on golf shoes at DSW about two years ago.

Merrells are really comfortable as well. Sometimes you can find them at DSW. Manfred has a pair that he wears all the time.
