When Do You Say I Give on Car Repairs

I took my wife's car down to be looked at this morning, the esc off light is on, the clock keeps resetting and it's hesitant on start up. It's under warranty so it's no big deal. The big deal is the rep told me 3 hours ago that he'd call me in an hour to let me know what's up and I'm still waiting. It's like being held hostage.

I feel like cars have way too many "options" these days, and they generally are more trouble than they are worth. I'd much rather make decisions than rely on my car to do it for me. Sorry for the mini-rant, have been there with newer cars and prefer the simplicity of my 1980s Toyotas.

Shoot NYBuck an email and ask him to explain Sunk Costs to you. Then you will have a very detailed explanation on how to determine if it is worth putting more money into this beast.

Oh, I understand sunk costs which is why I was asking the question. That and my crystal ball is broken....

How about just giving her a bus pass for senior year? That's what the cool parents are doing.

She doesn't actually drive much when she is at school, it is the down and back of 11 hours each way.

Also, why is she showing up on my LinkedIn account as a recommended connection?

Because you want to be connected to the best and brightest stars of the future..... Really she should connect to your wife since she wants to be in a health related area.
