Just found out Great Lakes Christmas Ale is now out. Ah, one of the good things about moving home.

Holiday Ales are my favorite seasonals. My absolute favorite is Barley's Christmas Ale and Winter Warmer (of course!). There are some great ones out there, including Great Lakes. Rogue's Yellow Snow Ale is another favorite of mine.

BBH, I just had some Sierra Nevada porter, and I still think it's pretty good. I like the chocolaty flavor of it. Now if I could just find some Anchor Steam porter around here!

The Sierra Nevada porter is indeed quite good!

I like the Indian beers, Taj Mahal and Kingfisher.

Yellow Snow Ale? Don't go where the Huskies go! And don't you eat......drink that Yellow Snow!

The local store has a build-your-own six-pack, so I tried some new beers over the past few weeks. Can take or leave the Guinness, but Blue Moon is good and the Widmer Hefeweizen will be the next to go back in the fridge... tasty! Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest was good as well.

Yep. I was rather disappointed that we ran our last keg of Nosferatu dry, but then I rememberd that we'll have Christmas Ale this week! We also got Harpoon's Winter Warmer on tap, which is quite tasty, but I can't drink a lot of it... it's rather gingery.

By the way, for all you Guinness drinkers - are you Guinness purists? Or do you sometimes mix things with your Guinness? What's your favorite beer to put on the bottom of a half and half?

Anyone ever add other things to Guinness? One of the favorites at Kennedy's right now is Van Gogh Double Espresso Vodka. I'd rather drink it on rocks - it's delicious on its own, but a shot of it is quite tasty in a pint of Guinness, too.

pure is the only way to rock - black and gold/tan does nothing but taint the taste of Guinness
