Whats the most over the speed limit, you've been warned for.

When I was in the military I knew a ton of soldiers that got out of speeding tickets and even a dwi once due to the fact that they were military. They just made sure that they had their military id in front of their drivers license in their wallets so the cop can't help but see that they are military.
That must have been in another dimension than the one I've been living for the past 18+ years. Maybe, just maybe, I could see getting some leniency from a cop in an area far removed from any military base. But, from my experiences, that DOD sticker means nothing. Cops around military bases primarily feed off of GIs, as do cleaners, pawn shops, used car dealerships, etc...

My only warning was for 9 over the limit in Attica, Ohio. The cop looked in my back seat, said "you got a couple a nice-lookin dogs back there" and let me go on. Other than that, I've been ticketed every time I've been pulled over.

I guess I should have mentioned that most of these people were not around their military installation. Most of these soldiers were home on leave. The person that got out of the dui failed the breathalizer for sure. They had been drinking from 4pm to about 1am.

Didn't help my buddy. He was home for a two week leave from Iraq and got a DUI I believe his third day back. Tried to tell the guy he was home from Iraq for just two weeks but it didn't matter.

Did end up getting it pleaded down to a reckless op. b/c he knew a baliff in the court in which he was appearing.

Thump, it doesn't matter if you've been in Iraq or not -- you can still kill someone (or yourself) driving drunk.

I've gotten a warning in Georgia for going 15 mph over the speed limit. Never been ticketed.

I've received two warnings... one was a verbal warning going 55 in a 35 (although the speed was 55, then dropped to 45, then dropped to 35 in a short amount of space... needless to say it was a speed trap)... I have one written warning going 75 in a 65 (was on my way to a wedding... my wife and I were both dressed up and the officer was kind enough to let us move along)...

Sushi,

I'm not saying I agree with my friend, I don't care if you invented the polio vaccine or the artificial heart, I agree that he should have gotten a DUI and not given preferential treatment.

Just stating the facts from bucks4me that not every military member gets cut some slack.

I got pulled over for doing 72 in a 55. Didn't give me a speeding ticket but ticketed me for not wearing a seatbelt. I didn't bother arguing that I only took off the seatbelt to get my registration out of the glove box.

I did 39 in a 25 on my way to speedway to beat out the 1AM beer deadline. I told the cop I thought it was a 35 and he let me go. Needless to say I celebrated my good fortune that night but felt like shit the next day when naty ice refused to leave my system.

The other was on SR-15 on the way back to my parent's house for turkey day. I was going 72 in a 55 and got out because he saw I was a student at OSU. So we talked OSU football and the big win against scUM and then he let me go.

68 in a 55 zone in Marion county...but I got a citation for the seatbelt. I had just pulled out of a driveway after resetting my left contact as it had fell out when I was scratching my eye. Of course, I forgot to re-buckle up.
