What's the fastest you've ever driven?

187 in this guy:

Comptech supercharged '03 Acura NSX. Did it on the Beaver Run Motorsports Complex at Beaver Falls, PA. It pulls around 480 hp and weighs a little under 2800 lbs.

Thing was beastly:

135+ mph on Rt. 11 in my 1990 Thundbird Super Coupe, supercharged V-6. I was surprised how fast that car was. The speedo was pegged and it had more to give...I've only had my Mustang to 115 mph or so. Now that I'm older, I get scared going that fast...

On the street, about 145 in a Porsche 911 C4.

On the Track probably around 165-175 on the backstrech at Mid Ohio in a couple different cars. One was the Dodge Viper PPG Pace Car when they ran CART races up there (Unfortunately I was only a passenger in that one), that was an incredibly powerful car. The other was in a Porshce GT3 Cup Car which was probably the fastest I have ever gone as a driver.

Frequent traveler warning (Do not read any further if you travel a lot)
I used to park cars at the airport 3C parking, back in the late 80's right when the first 6 speed Vettes came out. We used to get this exec from Arby's all the time with a brand new one. My goal was to see if I could get into 6th gear from the Airport to Steltzer rd on International Gateway. The fastest I ever got was about 110, but I was still only in 4th or 5th gear.

Ok it's nice to know what people have been pulled over for speed wise, but tell us how fast you've gone and not been caught?

I've had 2 of my past cars up to 105 on a 4 lane stretch of Rt 42 between West Salem and Ashland. Just make sure you don't speed in West Salem. Those cops are the biggest dicks in Ohio.

First, I've gotten a ticket in West Salem.

Second... I didn't use that part of 42... I used the downhill from the 89 intersection coming back from there... you just had to make sure to get on the brakes about the time it flattened out... :wink2:

That downhill is the best. It will make any car feel like a sports car.
My fiance got a ticket in West Salem too. I've driven through there enough to know not to speed. I told her they were dicks, but I guess she didn't believe me until she got a ticket for going 45 in a 35. WS used to be a lot worse, but I think some of their speed zones were found to be illegal. They used to be 25 mph downtown and the 35 zones went a quarter mile outside of the city limits.

They got me on the Northside inside the dead area, between the limit sign and the beginning of the "55".... it was crap.. AND I was going I think 42 in the 35... cocksucker.

Drove 110 on H-3 here in Hawaii for about a mile (it's not a long highway and not very straight). Also rode at 115 in my boss' Saab in 1985 in Belgium...we cruised at about 110 for about 30 minutes on a straight country road up to the SHAPE HQ base at Mons and it was like riding on air.

I may have accidentally gotten up to 85. But if I did, it was passing someone on the highway, going downhill. The fastest I have driven where I realized just how fast I was going is probably 77ish mph going through WV on 70.
