What's the difference Row A or Row 1

I see alot of ebay auctions that say Row A are they talking the first row and if they are what not say Row 1 ?

In 7AA 5AA etc (endzones), they do use ROW A, B, row A being the first row, with row 1 several rows behind it. I know this because for texas last year I sat 5AA ROW A, which indeed was the first row on the field. The people ARE making typos if the sections are not 5 or 7AA or close to that.
