Depends on how much of a leash he's on.

If they want a win-now thing or to be anything more than .500 in year 3, they're incredibly unrealistic.

If they are willing to give him enough time to build from within and give it 5 or 6 seasons, I think he could get it to the same plateau as Dantonio did.

Cignetti just won a NC at a hole in the Earth like IU in what, 2 years?

I think the days of the B1G West-like gentlemen's club are over.

How can you sit there as a mid type of B1G team and watch IU win a NC and NOT think you should be able to find a coach, hit the portal and at least make a playoff run?

ehhh maybe....I don't think Sparty's leadership is going to give Fitz the keys to the castle like IU did. We'll see of course.

I agree, I don't think they will.

I just wonder if the old expectations/leash lengths still exist.
