Whats Hot & Whats Not - ESPN

I mentioned in another thread that the whole Samardzija/pitcher angle is being way overplayed. If he were in the Twins organization, or maybe the Marlins or Atlanta, I think it'd be a really big deal. But he's not. He's with the Cubs, and that means his career will take off like the Spruce Goose once Dusty Baker has him throw 175 pitches in his major league debut.

I agree...And wouldn't this only be somwhat interesting if he were a quarterback. I don't see how his pitching skills relate to being a reciever...What's the point?

"The Fighting Irish are back in the national consciousness, where they belong"

can someone explain to me why they "belong" there? because some dbag from espn says so?

I thought the same thing when I read that. I always thought and even heard and read that you had to "EARN" that right. Apparently, that applies to all teams except for the Domers. They appear to be headed in the right direction but I don't think they proven they "belong" yet.

A whole lot of talk about college football.

And the only mention of the team that was just voted #1? Being in a list of teams that torched ND's secondary.

Zbikowski is a very average safety.

It's a good thing he's fast because he bites so hard on play fakes he has to have great make up speed to catch those receivers from behind.

See the Santonio Holmes touchdown in the 2nd quarter of the Fiesta Bowl. Sure he caught Tone from behind, but he's the safety. Why was Santonio so far behind him in the first place? There's a reason they are called safeties...

Zbikowski was actually covering Ginn on that play. I believe it was Ndukwe (sp?) that was beaten deep.

Ignoring all the other stuff upthread, having Randy Walker's death on a hot/not list is just a tad disrespectful.

I was thinking the same thing. Enough time hasnt passed to be talking about Walker. The papers I have (Chicago Sun Times, Daily Hearld, etc) havent really mentioned the 'Cats, just out of respect. Not ESPN though, they seem like they dont care who they offend.

NOT Cool Espin! :pissed:

sssooooooooo....

hot:
Freshman QBs. Redshirt freshman Colt McCoy or freshman Jevan Snead will end up leading Texas, the defending national champion.

not:
Big 12 QBs. No Vince Young

hot:
Notre Dame. Charlie Weis' coaching.

not:
NFL retreads.

:tic:

hot:
saying anything the average uneducated dolt wants to hear.

not:
anything that requires actual thought.
