and only to find out the majority of the members are heathens..

Who says heathens are the only ones who don't practice Lent? To my knowledge, there are a lot of denominations that do NOT practice Lent. Catholicism pushes it, and maybe a couple others, but definitely not all christians.

I guess if I have to give something up, simply to conform, I will give up drinking...












....anything but alcohol.

I live in an area that is not as "Catholic dominated" as where I grew up and I have noticed more of the other denominations are starting to practice Lent. I could not tell you to what extent, but even the grocery ads are starting to focus on fish sales for Lent.

I did have someone call me to invite me to lunch today. He asked where to go and I just asked for someplace with fish as it is Ash Wednesday. He had no clue what I was talking about.
