I can see going 12-0 and not winning the AP National Championship. If Alabama, LSU, or USC goes undefeated it will probably be virtually impossible to pass them in the AP poll as our SOS is not that tough.

As awesome as it would be, it's not gonna happen. I think most are pretty tongue-in-cheek about the 12-0 AP NC talk. Biggest reason being: even if we go 12-0, put up 800 points on the season, and shut out all of our opponents, we won't have a bowl win. There are 5 BCS bowl games, meaning there will be 5 BCS bowl winners. One of those winners is bound to go into it with 10 wins, meaning they'd become an 11-2 BCS bowl winner, which beats a 12-0 non-bowl-participant in the mind of every AP voter.

Although, if everyone else in the nation goes 6-6...

I have them going for the gusto, and running the table.

Having said all of that, I'm eyeing the Michigan St. - Boise game. If MSU can pull out a win, I'll be pretty concerned for our meeting.

I'd actually be more concerned if they lost. Their D should be pretty good I'd hate for them to have an extra chip on their shoulders when we visit. Sadly any chance of an AP title would seem to require MSU beating Boise ( with Boise running the table after) and scUM beating Bama ( and Bama doing the same). Not to mention a serious run from the Badgers. After last season, I don't have it in me to cheer on another BIG team anytime soon. PSU, Wisc, and even Purdue need an ass whooping.

So, as far as the poll goes.

1. 12-0 no AP. A top 3 ranking going into 2013 will be nice. :oh:

2. I hope the "Just beat TSUN" days are over. I mean seriously the only time this would seem to apply is when they have a win streak going or we have a terrible season on our hands. I just don't see either of these two things happening in the foreseeable future.
