What were you doing 10 years ago today?

I remember talking to a Browns fan two weeks before this happened and bet him 20 bucks the Bengals would have a better record. And then this happeded...not only did he lose the bet...he lost his team to :)

Ten years ago I was thinking about how miserable it would be if it took the Browns ten more years to make the playoffs. Then they made it in their 4th year back. Which turned out to be a grand total of seven years without a playoff appearance. So I knew that being without a team for a few years wasn't even half as bad as being a Bengals fan.

I remember laughing and thinking Art Modell was one of the greatest owners of all time.

I also remember co-writing with buckeyefool a letter to the editor of the Latern trying to console the Browns fans by showing all of the positives the move created. Unfortunately, the damn Nazis that ran the Latern never printed it.

Living in Baltimore, pondering the blatant hypocrisy of Baltimore fans that would never forgive Irsay for moving the Colts, but would welcome with open arms a team being taken from its fans. I've never liked the Browns, but that dislike is unmatched by my disgust with the Ravens and their fans.
