What Was Your First Ride?

Taosman

Your Cousin In New Mexxico
Cars are such a big part of our lives.
What was your first ride?
My first ride was a $300 1962 Ford Falcon four-door. 3 speed on the column.
First gear was unsynchronized, so you had to be at a complete stop to put it in first. And because a "friend" had sold it to me, it came with the rear end jacked up with springs off a rail car!
Rear doors didn't work"because when you get a girl back there, it makes it harder for her to get out!" Never worked for me!:tongue2:
Car had frequent carb fires so I invested in a extinguisher!
Good first car to learn on . I backed into a wall, once.
Parents came home from a vacation and found this hunk of automotive junk in their front yard.:slappy:

'83 Chevy Cavalier. It even had a sun-roof, that leaked when it rained hard. The best thing about the car was you could take the keys out of the ignition when it was running. It lasted me all through high school, undergrad and almost two years of grad school.

'83 Chevette. The material on the roof kept coming unglued. I drove around with bobby pins in the ash tray so when it fell on my head while I was driving, I could stick it back in place quickly. Had a few dozen pins up there by the time I was done with the car.

1976 Buick Park Ave.... an absolute boat!!! Comfy ride, big V8, "loaded" (it had an eight-trac :wink2: )... After learning to parallel park that beast, other cars were a piece of cake to park... I didn't care for the car, however I was bouncing off trees that first year (heck, I even drove into a concrete pole at the gas station). Looking back, that was the best thing my parents could have done... given me a big piece of steel that couldn't be raced....

92 Chevy Cav, that was rebuilt by My uncle for Me.

It was suppose to be a hand me down of a 85 buick from My dad and he was going to get a new car. About a month before my 16th birthday Some guy fell asleep at the wheel driving home and plowed into the buick while my dad was driving it. Thankfully My dad was fine and the car got totaled
