We've have a queen since we've been married - I slept in a full (double) before that. A king would be nice, but there's no way we'd fit it up our staircase - it's got a turn in it. We had to get a split box spring for the queen - but don't use it anymore, what with our 'platform' bed frame and all.

King. I slept in a twin until after grad school. I still sleep in one little area of the bed after all those years in a smaller one. Even though I do not move around in my bed and would be fine in a twin I cannot imagine anything but a king.

Once my (at the time) girlfriend started spending more and more nights at my place the full bed just wasn't big enough. I am too big for anything less than a full by myself. I've had a king bed at my parents house ever since I was 13, but had to go with a full once I got out of the dorms in college. Now that I live with my fiance I am getting used to sleeping with someone else every night. I do miss having the whole king size bed to myself. That allowed such freedom. :p

that's just it... we don't. It will be my wife and kids in bed and me on the couch. My parents have a kind size frame that they don't use so all we have to do is buy the mattresses.
don't forget the sheets, blankets, pillows, etc.. you ain't done when the mattresses arrive... be read for lots of addl expense.. big jump in the king size accessories... but you'll love the extra playground room

I have a king. I just bought a bed frame that was pretty weird. It was as wide as a king, but 4 inches shorter than a king so I had to build a couple extenders to make it fit my bed. I thought that it was a cal king, but I just checked and a CK is longer, but not as wide as a king. I thought it was the other way, which would make the frame fit. Any ideas? I'm not complaining I got a scratch and dent $1000 frame for $350.

sounds like you have your mattress the wrong way.. cal king is longer.

We have a queen and have thought about a king, but it wouldn't really benefit me any. My wife ends up in the fetal position on my side of the bed. It's so bad some nights that there is actually more free space on her side of the bed than what I have. I have no more room on our queen than we had on her full at her parents house. The worst thing is if I have to get up at night to use the bathroom. She somehow scoots further to my side and I have to push her back in order to get in bed.

Why don't you just go around to the other side? Sounds like there's plenty of room over there...
