*in my best nerd voice*

Actually, the answer is not that clear-cut.

*end nerd voice*

First, let's assume that you get the higher score on the second take (you went up, not down). With this assumption, the answer is that it depends on which school you want to go to.

Many schools do average your score in every case. For these schools, it is probably better to get the 163/168 scores. However, some schools will disregard your lower score if your second score is significantly higher (usually 10+ points). For these schools, scoring a 153 and 168 would be better because the school will probably just take 168 as your score.

Some (or perhaps all) schools that are willing to disregard your lower score may want an explanation for the disparity. Saying that you didn't take the test seriously the first time around probably won't be the best excuse, but there are more compelling reasons. Maybe you had a death or illness in the family or with a friend. Maybe your testing site was a university that had a big football game that day and the noise was a distraction.

In fact, even schools that are adamant about averaging your scores may make exceptions if the circumstances warrant it. It all depends. But generally excuses are given more weight if the score disparity is large. I doubt the 5-point disparity in the 163/168 would qualify.

Looks like the Beechcroft swim team is a bastion of masculine athletes. :roll1:

And yes, I know this is from 03-04.

BTW, I recommend everyone visit the Beechcroft website if you want to see one of the chinsiest websites ever.

The ignore feature work for moderators just as well as it does for regular posters. If you don't like what TG05 has to say simply add him to your ignore list and you'll never have to read another story about him or his swim team ever again.

but I've yet to see Ted have any insight whatsoever. Not saying it can't happen, or that he won't grow into it, but in, what, around 3000 posts now, there hasn't been any. Hmmm.

I'd have to disagree.

I do recall the thread about the guy coming to Columbus in March and looking for something to do and tedginn05 correcting a poster mentioning the Budweiser tour.

Ted correctly stated that they don't offer the tour anymore.

PLEASE don't press me to come up with any other instances though.

I scored a 77 out of 80 on the math part of the PSAT. Which equals out to a 770.

Is that good? I scored something like in the 98 percentile in the country.

You know that PSAT is jsut to build up your confidence right? They come out swinging on the real test...

Also... I've noticed Tedward... that you haven't mentioned your score on the other part... was it ligamently bad?
