Here's a true story.
We bought a 93 Mazda MX3, new.
The original tires lasted 140,000! :yow1:
Car still has the original brakes.
Runs great! At 162,000. :tongue2:

I already posted that I like the Dunlop Radial AT's, but should add that I did a TON of research before buying them. Looked at Consumer Reports, read a shitload of online reviews, and compared prices and warranties. With everything considered, there is absolutely NO tire that even comes close to the Dunlop for SUV/Truck tires. The Yoko's are ok, but did not test well as far as durability in Consumer Reports. Hankook actually tested well, and are reasonably priced, but their reviews were bad, and they don't have a warranty. Bridgestone also tested well with Consumer Reports, and got decent reviews on cars, but their truck/SUV reviews were horrible, plus they're a little more expensive. If you're looking for tires for a light truck/SUV, definitely go Dunlop. Top 7 in Consumer Reports, an average 9.3 - 9.5 review rating, a 55,000 mile warranty, and they come in (if you look) around $90/tire.

Went over to Meijer at lunch today to do some quick shopping, and walked out of the store to see my front right wheel sitting on its rim. Somewhere along the way I'd picked up a nail and the tire had bled all the air in under 10-minutes.

Across the parking lot was a Discount Tire supercenter, so I walked over there and asked one of the guys what they charged for a patch. He said "Nothing, just bring the vehicle over." I explained the situation, so he threw a floor jack into the back of his truck and drove over to my car, took off the tire, went back to the store to patch it, and brought it back. Guy didn't charge me a dime, but I tipped him a Jackson for bailing me out.

Hell, he had the whole thing done before I could've assembled that craptastic jack that's included in the trunk with my spare, or before I could've gotten through the automated phone menu with AAA -- and that's not even counting the time to change to my spare, and then drive somewhere to get the patch and the wheels changed back out again.

Don't know what my next tire brand will be, but I know where I'm going to buy them. Best customer service experience I've ever had with any business, and after walking around their showroom for a little while I see their prices were well below Sears, NTB, and even WalMart. :)

The OEM tires on my Porsche is Bridgestone Potenzas. The car has 10k miles on it but there is plenty of tread left. I did some research on the Porsche boards and there were plenty of other guys who tried Pirellis or Continentals, but they all went back to the Bridgestones.

The backs are monsters (295/30ZR18), but the Tire Rack has them for about 330 each. Way more expensive elsewhere.

You didn't say; but since you are from Lancaster I ass/u/me this was the Meijer on US 33 just NE of Lancaster. However, I don't really remember seeing a tire store in their parking lot. Is it close to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant?

Yes, it is right beside the Texas Roadhouse. Sets directly in front of Steak and Shake.
