We have now brought all three fans we own, including an industrial strength one back to our bedroom (which is approximately 12x12). Last night it was so windy in there that I could toss a tissue up in the air and watch it fly around in circles on the ceiling. Still hotter than hell. :(

One of the cheapest ways to cool your house is with a attic fan on a thermostat.
The attic fan will draw air through your windows and push the heat out vents in your attic.
It's cheap to buy and if your the least bit handy you can do the installation yourself.

But if the temperature outside is 95 degrees, you're just pulling 95 degree air through your house. I've seen those installed in attic's, but never to cool a house.
