What is your favorite Happy Hour location?

Restaurants/bars up here are not allowed to have "happy hours."

That is always sad to hear, it always comes down to a select few mess it up for everyone.

I will try to add bars in your area and include the food specials and any drink specials if they have them.

Brewtus, really? It seem some places in Chicago are not following the rule...unless they just eliminated them recently and I need to update the site!
I think it was back in the mid 90's or so when they began prohibiting Happy Hours. The Illinois law sounds similar to what Sushi has to put up with. We can have food items reduced during certain hours, but not liquor. And if a bar wants to run a drink special, it has to be an all-day thing and not just during certain hours.

What a shame that a few bad apples have to spoil a good time for everyone.

Can I say that my favorite Happy Hour location is kicked back on my couch, watching HDTV, with a pint of beer from my kitchen keg fridge? Or is that too smug? :wink2:

Not to smug at all man. I agree, being at home is sometimes the best thing. And you get great deals on all the drinks :biggrin:

Bodega = fucking awesome.
Amusing Other Paper anecdote: In the annual readers' poll, Bodega won "Best Beer Selection." The text stated that it narrowly beat out its "blue collar competition."

Ha... to hell with Bodega. I'll take the blue collar competition any day. And I'll be happy that the people who go to a bar just because the Other Paper recommended it are somewhere else.

In Columbus, Notal's Too Power Hour on Saturday evening is a must. You pay a 5 dollar cover and from 7-9 it's dollar anything. And when I say anything, I mean just about anything. Drafts, Jager, Grey Goose, Patron and Red Bull will cost you 2 dollars, but everything else in the bar is a dollar. Imports, top shelf liquor, you name it.

One time me and my buddy just sat at the corner there and pounded mixed drinks. We had 32 double drinks each in 2 hours. Their drinks are small so a double is more like 1.5 drinks, but I couldn't form a complete sentence for the rest of the night.

I can attest to this... I wasn't apart of it, but witnessed the aftermath
