Two killed in Michigan college shooting - CNN.com
(CNN) -- Two people were shot and killed Friday at a community college in Dearborn, Michigan, in what police believe was a murder-suicide, an official said.

A man and woman were found dead in a classroom building on the campus of Henry Ford Community College, Dearborn Deputy Chief Gregg Brighton said.

Investigators believe the man shot the woman but would not provide further information, Brighton said.

A shotgun was involved in the incident, which occurred in a classroom that was not being used, he said.

I just think we need to screen better for gun purchases, And make the laws unifom.

For instance in cali you have to wait up to 10 days to purchase any gun and only 1 per month. In texas you have to wait 24 hours and you can buy as many guns as you can afford. In Ohio you only have to wait on hand guns you can walk in and ourchase shotguns and certain rifles the same day.

guess the real question is "why do people go postal in the first place?". a sense of hopelessness and despair? not receiving adequate attention or proper reward/punishment for actions? feeling alone or abandoned? not feeling as though you belong or that there is any hope of your situation changing?

when you turn on the news or look out your window, do you see a significant number of those symptoms being displayed on a regular basis? i suspect the answer is a resounding yes.

without question. in fact, its going to get significantly worse in the not too distant future. one of the interesting parts of this phenomena (if you want to call it that) is the absolute need for attention. its not like they are killing homeless people under a bridge where the bodies aren't found for weeks. these incidents are happening in the most visible locations in this country (schools and now a police station) not the white house. the individuals doing this are begging for attention. any attention and if it requires their death... well, apparently they have made it to that point in their desperation.

as things in this country continue to deteriorate, these crimes will become more frequent and more elaborate.

worried? no. do i expect it to happen here? im surprised it hasn't happened already.
