Does your company allow you to cash your vacation? Some companies will pay you for the vacation you didn't use come the new year. I think it is their way of making sure you don't take 8 weeks off.

Yes. I cash mine in around Thanksgiving every year for a little extra Christmas spending money. I think I had four days this year so it almost an extra pay check.
