There's a massive difference between basic common sense and book smarts. Everyone I know had the Santa-lie figured out around age 6 simply b/c it was just plain unbelieveable.

My oldest is nine. If she has stopped believing, it would be news to me. She put a letter under the tree two weeks ago asking Santa to drop off an elf until Christmas.
