That being said... "You're welcome" for putting their starting QB out and for setting them up for the annual collapse. :)
...and their All-American safety too. We softened 'em up pretty good for you guys

Congrats and good luck on your season! Hope you stick around on BP!! We love respectful opinions from different teams' prospectives

Nice win for the Huskies and my hat is off to ya.
Two years ago we knew you guys would be tough
to beat and that win gave us good feeling to win
out the rest of our games which we almost did.
Jake Locker played a solid game in 2007 but you
could see the difference in his maturity and approach to the
2009 season. I kind of had a feeling that after USC after
beating us in 2008, that they would have it rough going up
to play the Beavers then. I knew Locker was a good QB for
you. But over-all the Huskies played as one unit and it showed.
Bottom line is this: any one team coming into to the "Shoe" at
the beginning of the season will be a Huge test for them. And if they
come out with a win, thier confidence level is 150% over what they
thought it would be when they came in to that awesome scene of the
"Shoe". Alot of Buckeye fans still feel that we don't get enough respect for
who we are. Well - just tell that to the opposing team and you might get a whole different opinion. But in all fairness to other teams and even our Buckeyes, its just so very hard to stay up and continue to be that way week after week. Thats why we have to take one game at a time. Right ?
"Go Bucks".

I have to be honest. I think Washington has a good quarterback but would not have won against USC anytime except when they were severely banged up by Ohio State or a physical team of that caliber.

It's a shame because the loss hurt Ohio State as well.

I don't mind the Huskies. However, since I live in Oregon now, I'm supposed to hate the arrogant sons o' bitches. It's interesting. Washington is to Oregon what Michigan is to Ohio. Pretty cool that way.

I don't think many people in Ohio root for the Lions.
And I doubt many people in Michigan care about the Cavs.

Uhhh... I'm living it; therefore, it IS likely.

FTR, I wasn't comparing the rivalry. I was discussing the very topic that was within my post: "I'm supposed to hate the arrogant sons o' bitches." Notice two key points: 1) hate 2) arrogant sons o' bitches.

It really isn't the same. People up here (Seattle) really don't care one way or the other. I suppose you'll say that's arrogance, but nobody cares what Portland does or thinks and it's mystifying when Portland bothers to care about Seattle. It's a manufactured rivalry.

I was thinking the same thing, if he was here to talk smack I was all set to throw down, kinda disappointed really. I'm glad the Huskie's beat USC, and did it in the last few minutes so they get a taste of their own medicine. Washington is back in the sense that they are vastly improved over last year, but beating USC without Barkley, Taylor Mays, and for much of the game Joe McKnight, kind of takes some of the luster out of that win.

Regardless, congrats, and Go Bucks!
Seeing that USC douchebag celebrating his tackle as UW was getting in position to kick the GW FG made it 10x sweeter.

And I wasn't talking about professional sports.

Apparently, what I said wasn't clear.

I live in Oregon.
Many Oregonians (Ducks and Beaver fans alike) consider Washingtonians (particularly Huskies) as arrogant. There is even an undercurrent of hate in this regard. Now granted, it's more of a late 30s-60s (age wise) consideration; but it's still present from where I'm standing.

I'm not comparing rivalries. I know full well how the tOSU-Michigan rivalry ranks. I lived in Ohio for 19 years and Michigan for four. I've lived in Oregon for a little over 4. Nowhere in all of my posts have a I said anything about equivalent or that the Oregon sentiment towards Washington equals it. I simply said that there is "hate" and a belief that the others are "arrogant".
