I saw this thread last night and thought that I must be missing something. Maybe I am missing something, but I don't see any white or gold. Then, on my way to work this morning I heard about it on the radio. A couple of guys were pretty upset that people don't see the gold and white. So I looked at the picture again this morning. Obviously black and blue. I heard people arguing about it in the hall. What in the bork? I just don't see any white or gold. It's obviously a terrible picture, either because it's a terrible camera or because it's terribly lit. (I saw that JWinslow had an explanation, but that goes over my head, and I know that he knows way more than I do about photography, so I'll leave it at that.) But this stupid debate is making the internet dumber than it already is.

I had not realized how open to debate this was until I left my office yesterday for lunch reviewing my Twitter timeline on my phone while I walked, when I saw the dress change color between me walking out of the back door of shipping to the parking lot, when my iPhone's brightness/contrast changed under direct sunlight to reveal a lot more blue.

I'm still not sure what color the dress actually is, but when we finally figure that out, this should be a test pattern for TV & monitor color balance/hue/brightness calibration.
