That book was recommended to me by a young lady when we were both at tOSU. I will always have fond memories of it.

Good, fairly short read. Honestly, if you’ve seen the film “13 Days” based on this, you don’t really need to read the book. That’s a great flick, btw.

Finished Angel Down. Solid book. Same author as Whalefall, which I have not yet read but the movie trailer freaks me out.

Made it through Lonesome Dove. I may need to track down the miniseries just for comparison.
I’ve also been reading some of S. A. Cosby’s stuff. Really solid writer and definitely recommend him.

The technological republic: hard power, soft belief, and the future of the West
Talks about the IT progression and some of the current conflicts
Most forget the internet was created by the US military for US military
and the military's need for the tech world (especially software) to continue to help it
yet a number of entities, which wouldn't exist nor could function without the internet
are ideologs who refuse to help or pay back or feel any appreciation for the highway that feeds them
That IT and internet platforms have different agendas.. almost all capitalistic but focused on only business or gaming
