This is probably due to the lengthy writers strike and many shows being delayed, but I've had a really rough time finding anything great to watch these days. Outside of live sports, I really only watch Loki on Thursday nights!
As such I've made a point to really camp out at the local library and have rekindled my love of Sci-Fi and Low Fantasy books.

I'm currently halfway done with Golden Son in the Red Rising Trilogy.

A very quick summary, this series is Game of Thrones - but in space!
Different houses on different planets all organized by different classes. Golds are the rulers, whites are clergy, Blues are Pilots, Yellows are Doctors, Reds are the lowest, manual laborers. The protagonist tries to infiltrate the highest levels of society to bring it down from the inside. It's very good.

What are you reading right now?

Is Loki back already?

I've read through all the Jack Reacher books....I think there might be a new one out soon if it isn't already out. While I was looking for something else to read on a flight recently I learned there are way more books in the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series, so I'm jumping back into those.

Markley's 'Ohio' is one of the best novels I've ever read, so been eagerly awaiting this one after preordering it back in June. About 120 pages in and it is not disappointing...

I spent an hour or 2 a day of a 2 week vacation reading this last summer and only made it halfway through. This book is a monster that I guess he cut 700 pages out of before they published it. I ended up picking up an Audible trial at the beginning of the year because I wanted to see how it ended and knew I would never have the time to read it. I like fiction based in reality, but the first 90% left me pretty depressed about where the planet is headed. Maybe if more people read things like this the world would change. I'm not an avid reader, but Markley has a pretty unique ability to write in the voice of the characters.

I ended up using my other free Audible credit on 'Ohio'. It was good, but I had trouble suspending disbelief with some geographical anomalies that only someone that spent their whole life between Mt. Vernon and Cleveland would be able to pick out. It was also oddly pornographic in spots that didn't really seem necessary. Location wise it hit really close to home.

I pretty much get all of my book recommendations from this thread so keep it up.

Am not reading so highbrow as youse guys, but find that James Rosone has been doing several (many?) books on current political environment, such as how WWIII starts, and it's impact. He recognizes China as the protagonist, with a container ship as a missle launch pad, with 40+ big boy missles sailing through the canal, and shooting them off on east coast of US, knocking out pretty much all of the military bases on the eastern seaboard. Called the Monroe Doctrine, an eight book series. Also doing a space opera series, where Earth discovers other space races in the universe, all more advanced than earthlings, the interstellar wars that ensue. Am a SciFi buff, and believe there are some truly good and interesting authors now. To each his/her own, but always enjoy.
