How was the Storm before the Storm? I read a lot of History and Historical Fiction. Love books on Roman, Viking, Knights Templar, Britain, etc.
I enjoyed it.. it is very much History…
Have you listened to Mike Duncan’s podcasts?
His podcast (to me at least) are outstanding and well rounded… I plowed through “The History of Rome” which is about 180 episodes in about two month… the podcast he’s finishing up is equally as fascinating “Revolutions” i’ve plowed through it in a few months.

Back to the book. It feels a little disjointed at times but that’s because the information is disjointed but is a fascinating time to study and read about…eerily reminiscent

100% agree on Revolutions — I haven’t listened to History of Rome yet, but it’s on my list. His Lafayette book is also on my list to pick up here eventually.

I’m miffed I didn’t pick his stuff up until the pandemic. He was just down the road from me for a while during the beginning of “The history of Rome”

The Pelé book was just OK. I never even had heard of most of the people (associated with soccer during that era) mentioned in the book. I did learn something that I never new about soccer, it playing field is called a "pitch"....

The Ditka book was really good. He named actual names (that I recognized) and told what he actually thought about everyone, etc.
