What book are you currently reading, or recommend?

The last 2 weeks I read these three books:

Great book, one of the original "bad boys' of tennis. Actually Ilie Năstase is probably the original "bad boy" of tennis; and not surprisingly he was a good friend of Connors. For a guy that admits he wasn't that great in school and even paid someone $20 a report/paper during his Freshman year at UCLA he did a great job writing this book. He really tells some good inside stuff about his life and tennis. If you like tennis and/or followed Connors (he did become the ATP No. 1 ranked player on July 29, 1974 and held it for 160 consecutive weeks), you'll like this book.

A composite of Yogi's life by someone who read and complied the book from thousands of newspaper reports, etc. Book was interesting but not great.

Basically an autobiography of his life with a final message "wear a condom if you are going to have sex with women you pick up in bars and/or that pick you up". It is kind of a sanitized squeaky clean autobiography. Apparently Magic did work hard in the classroom and on the court, and did real good in his business interests too, etc.; however, he's from Michigan (Lansing and Michigan State) so he still sucks.

Just read these 5 books:

The above 3 were total wastes. Brees and Chizik just gives credit for everything to God and Petty tells how he was a great coach and recruiter (especially for Reggie Bush). Chizik thinks Cam Newton was an "outstanding young man" too. Needless to say, nether Carroll or Chizik admits to any recruiting violations.

Good book on the history of the Indians during (not dung:roll1:) the years that they were terrible.

Great book on the history of the Steelers, a must read for all Steeler fans.

"The Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury

I just re-read this one, a series of linked stories about mankind's experiences after traveling to and then colonizing Mars. Like most of Bradbury's books, it's a quick read, but so wondrous and mysterious and beautiful. (And it struck me that The Silent Towns could have been the inspiration for the Last Man on Earth tv show.)

The Jim Brown book was OK, but Oscar's book was definitely the best. If you aren't really familiar with Robertson's accomplishments (and are a basketball fan) you should read it. Ichiro's was a waste, just a very long interview from a Japanese reporter interviewing him. Most of the book he just talks about his batting stance, etc. I guess if you are a Braves fan you'll like Schuerholz's book more than I did.
